Dominic D’Agostino, Ph.D.

Dominic D’Agostino is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida and teaches neuropharmacology, hyperbaric medicine, medical biochemistry and nutrition physiology. His research is focused on developing and testing ketogenic diets, calorie restriction diets, ketone esters and ketone supplements to induce nutritional/therapeutic ketosis. D’Agostino’s laboratory uses in vivo and in vitro techniques to understand the physiological, cellular and molecular mechanism of metabolic therapies, including radio-telemetry (EEG, EMG), electrophysiology, fluorescence microscopy, laser confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), biochemical assays, in vivo bioluminescence imaging, behavioral testing and exercise performance.
