I am presently an independent scholar of Sociology of Food. My primary field is in the analytical sciences. I have a Master's Degree in Statistics and a Bachelor's Degree in Math. I have completed coursework for a PhD in Sociology. Professionally, I developed a statistically-based program evaluation model for Florida's Department of Juvenile Justice. My present interest in food studies stems from my upbringing as a first-generation American of 1960's Hispanic and Asian immigrants. Contemporary Western food culture is in conflict with my traditional food values which allows for a valuable lens when examining food constructs in America.
