Richard Manning

Author of ten books. Science writer who has worked extensively with issues surrounding agriculture, the environment and poverty. He has done research and fieldwork in thirty countries around the world and has on-the-ground experience with people ranging from Washington’s politicians to Masai and Samburu of Kenya, Inca of Peru, and the Blackfeet of Montana. The New York Times selected his 1997 book, One Round River as a significant book of the year. He has written extensively in publications ranging from Harper’s to The New York Times. Work was selected for the 2010 edition of the Best American Science and Nature Writing. Ultra-marathoner; a barefoot runner; hunts elk, deer and antelope in Montana.
